Month 3:
Gunteera stood up a moment to straighten her back and push her long hair back behind her shoulders. Her green firelizard chirped from where she dug for roots at her feet, debating on joining her Pet up high or not. Since she had the background for it, Gunteera's big chore of the day was to help the Healers gather plants for their medicines. Maybe with any luck, she would be able to help make the medicines as well. She glanced over at the others helping out and smiled at the quiet, but she was in the mood to pass the time just a bit more quickly by striking up a conversation with another Candidate that she had yet to talk to other than hellos. "Hey, Sephet? How are you coming along?" she asked as she pulled the rest of her hair back and tied it with the rest to keep it out of the way for now.
Gunteera
Sephet blinked and looked up at the sudden greeting from another candidite near him. Gunteera was her name he believed. Offering her a charming smile, he answered her. "I'm fine, I've gotten plenty of herbs for the medicines we're going to need to make later. What about you?"
Sephet
"All gathered up. I think Hope's digging for one or two more, though," she said with a smile, glancing down at her murky green flit that currently was splattered brown from her digging. "She's a big help, but I have to watch because she'll sometimes try to sneak one in on me just for fun." She looked back over at Sephet cheerily.
Gunteera
Sephet stifled a grin at her comment. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Alula
does things like that too if I don't watch her closely enough." He
shrugged. "You're Gunteera right? I think I remember meeting you during
the meet and greet for all the candidites. Tell me, what color dragon
are you hoping to Impress?"
Alula chirped a vague greeting at the girl her Pet was talking to then
to the other green flitt that was digging around in the dirt.
Sephet<>Alula
Gunteera smiled when he recalled her name. "Yes, that's me. The one and only. And I'm hoping for at least a green, but my father wants me to Stand in hopes of a gold. I wouldn't mind either way just so long as I finally Impress. I've been passed up a few times and it's not fun. I hope I have better luck here."
Hope sat up with an inquisitive chirp, a pile of dirt piled atop her head and nose from where she'd been nosing about for a root. Seeing the other green, she chittered happily. **Me Hope. My Gunteera. You?** she sent to Alula.
Gunteera<>Hope
Sephet's smiled brightly then. "I'm wanting a green too, though my parents would rather I want a blue or brown or even a bronze like my dad. And don't worry about being passed up, I've stood for several hatchings and been passed up. My parents said that the dragon meant for me just hadn't been clutched yet. I beleive the same is for all candidites that stand at multiple hatchings. You'll find the one meant for you, and when you do, you'll find it hard to believe you ever wanted another."
Alula chirped at the other green then decided she was okay to talk to. **Me Alula. My Sephet. Hope nice? Hope's Pet nice? Like Sephet?**
Sephet<>Alula
Gunteera smiled. "Well, then we can hope for our greens together." She had no problem with him wanting a green. He looked a bit feminine anyway. And she'd seen some REALLY feminine men riding greens. "I've been told something along those lines. I'm glad I'm not the only one Standing that's been passed up at other Hatchings. At least I won't be alone."
Hope shook herself off and flitted up to her Pet's shoulder to sit and preen herself with her tail wrapped loosely around the Candidate's neck for balance. **Me nice. My Gunteera nice.** She stretched her neck a bit to study Sephet a moment. **Like Sephet.** she confirmed.
Gunteera<>Hope
Sephet shrugged. "That's true, at least we'll both know at least one person when we go to stand. That way we can encourage each other no matter what happens."
Alula warbled warmly at the other green. **Alula happy, like Hope. Like Hope's Pet.**
Sephet rolled his eyes at his flitt. "I think our firelizards are talking about us.
Sephet<>Alula
Gunteera smiled. "That's always nice to know that you aren't alone out on those Sands."
Hope trilled excitedly. **Good! Good!**
The Candidate giggled softly at Sephet's comment. "Yes, probably. But Hope always talks about me. She has since she's been able to."
Gunteera<>Hope
Sephet laughed at her reaction. "Yeah, that's true. And Alula's been talking about me about the same amount of time. Sometimes she even tells me she's talking about me which is funny because she doesn't want me to know what she's talking about in the first place."
Alula chirped again and flicked her tail delightedly before nuzzling Hope affectionetely. **Good! Great! Hope play with Alula maybe?**
Sephet<>Alula
Gunteera smiled at Sephet's laugh. He sure was a nice boy. That put her at better ease, especially knowing that she wasn't the only one Standing for a second or third or more times. "It is funny how they do that," she said cheerily.
Hope chittered happily. **Yes! Yes! Hope play with Alula! Fun!** she replied to the other firelizard.
Gunteera<>Hope
Sephet shrugged good-naturedly. "Yeah, sometimes I have to pretend I didn't hear something whenever Alula wants to suprise me. She's bossy, but she's a sweetheart." He shook his head. "So tell me, how did you get Hope? How long have to had her?"
Alula chirped excitedly and launched herself into the air and hovered just above Gunteera's head. **Good, good! Alula play play! Hope play play now?** She darted back and forth over the female candidite's head, hoping to talk the other flitt into a friendly game of tag.
Sephet<>Alula
Gunteera laughed softly. "Hope's not that bad. But she is still pretty young." She watched her little green hop a few times before taking to the air happily. She laughed a moment at Sephet's question. "I got her doing the very same thing we're doing now about two turns ago. We were gathering herbs and I'd wandered off a bit and must have sat down near where a nest had been and my bit of jerky got stolen by that sweet little thing. I'd been hoping for a dragon for so long I guess I was given a firelizard instead, but I'd still like to have a dragon too," she said, answering his curiousity happily. She loved talking about her firelizard.
Hope flitted a moment in uncertainty, but with an okay from her Pet, she trilled softly and went after Alula. **Play! Play!** she said excitedly.
