Month 2:
E'than wandered into the dining cavern toward evening, the usual peppermint stick in his mouth, Ever at his side, hugging his knees when he moved. The brownrider was early for the evening meal, but that was okay. He wasn't in a great hurry. As a matter of fact, he was hardly ever in a hurry. Seeing that few were there, yet, he went and got a mug of juice and found himself a seat, not quite out of the way, but not really in the main traffic area. He leaned back in the chair he'd scored and propped his feet up on a nearby bench. The wild feline jumped up to curl up on his master's lap, content to be as close to the rider as he could possibly get. Cloudy eyes scanned the cavern watchfully and curiously as the rider settled into his usual routine of watching the happenings of the cavern in preparation for the meal, Ever drifting off to a light nap where he lay.

A tall gangly figure walked into the dining hall, long black hair pulled back in a loose braid hung behind the figure as they walked, head down, eyes focused on the floor before them.Velina wasn't the most striking female in the Weyr, but she was not exactly as normal site. Regardless of the heat Velina wore a high neck shir with long sleeves, long pants and sandals. Walking towards the kitchens she smiled softly when she reached them and asked for a small basket of red fruit. After retrieving the juice filled fruit she made her way across the hall, nodding quietly to the man sitting at the table.
Velina
E'than smiled at the young lady, a genuine friendly expression save for his cloudy eyes which never did show any emotion in their depths. "Evenin', miss," he said to her in greeting. Her appearance did nothing to deter him. He'd grown up where appearance only told how often you won the fights you picked. He still didn't know everyone there, but he was willing to learn who all lived there, since it was quite the small Weyr. But he liked that better, easier to figure out who to avoid for future reference. Ever stirred on his master's lap at the spoken words, but did nothing else until he caught scent of someone else. He opened his eyes and looked at the Candidate warily, remaining still but tense, ready to move should he need to.

Velina paused at E`than's table and nodded to him. "Good evening to you as well, sir," she said softly, her voice held a hidden strength to it that even she did not know of while her mitmatched eyes showed the nervousness and shyness she felt. "Pardon my forwardness, sir...but would you be a rider? I have not been here long and...well.. .I do not know much of this Weyr."
Velina
The Searchrider smiled, laying a hand on Ever who he'd felt tense at the girl's voice. The wild feline settled down, but continued to watch Velina. "I don' mind it. Yeah, I ride brown Connorth. He's a Search dragon." He waved a hand at the table. "Have a seat. I'll talk if ya' wanna know some. Been here a bit. Oh, an' don't mind Ever. He's act'ly real shy of folk." He didn't mind talking, especially to the younger folk.
