It was the day after the Hatching. The day after the festivities. The first day of Weyrling Training. Annalyra knew that most youngsters hated such a wild switch to their schedules as this, but it was necessary in order to keep things running smoothly. Armed with a bell, the WeyrlingMaster strode through the barracks to wake her charges...
"Up, up, up! Everyone up! Your dragonets are hungry!" she called, not too loudly and definitely not too softly. She could be heard very clearly.
Outside, Precisith waited a short distance from the barracks, guarding twenty buckets of the same amount of meat, but not enough to satisfy even the smallest dragonet. Annalyra had decided to cut the new Weyrlings one little break by allowing them to slow their dragonets' hunger before cutting up their own meat. From what she had witnessed in the past, the first feeding after the hatching had often resulted in a few injuries from pushy dragonets that couldn't possibly wait for their food despite their lifemate's attempts to stop them. Besides, the carcasses sitting nearby the big green were the dragonets' food after they'd finished their buckets. The Weyrlings would still be cutting up their own meat, but in a much safer way, she'd decided....

Velina had been up slightly early in the morning...nightmare s had plauged ehr in the night and instead of lying comfortably in her bed Annalyra would have found the young girl curled up against her beautiful green Manxith. Blinking her eyes open from their closed state she sat up and stretched, grimacing as a vertabrae protested at being crunched into such an akward position. She turned and smiled warmly as she looked down at her green, the creature was already awake, but had remained quiet and comforting instead of openly demanding food. *How is my beautiful Own this morning?* she asked, gently stroking the little green's back. Manxith crooned softly as she accepted the caresses before leanign forward and licking Velina's cheek gently. ((I am very well, but I am hungry,)) she said simply, but did not push the issue. ((Are you allright?)) Velina actually stopped to think on that, her green was incredibly intelligent, and though she kept her mind
slightly guarded she seemed to know there was still somethign ehr Mine was not telling her. *I am perfect, you are by my side and it is a beautiful morning. Come let up get you some food,* she smiled as she rose and led the green towards Annalyra.

Oryen on the other hand had simply refused to sleep in his bed and was curled around his green, Tohanath, Yinmin sleeping comfortably on the back on his head. He was jolted out of his dreaming by a loud rumble and he shot his head up blinking. Yinmin squeaked indignantly as she was tossed off her perch and immediately crawled up Oryen's body to roost on his shoulder with a huff. Looking about he finally gazed down and giggled as he watched his Own awaken. She was sprawled out on her back, wings flat on ht ground and legs up in the air twitching every now and then in her dreaming. Hmmm...not what had woken him? The rumble sounded again and he couldn't help but laugh out loud when he realized where the sound was coming from. *My Own, my beaufitul Tohanath, it is time for you to rise. Your stomach tells me you are hungry,* he smiled as he rose to his feet and straightening out his sleep pants. Tohanath gurgled softly before opening one slowly whirling red
eye. ((I am tired, Mine...may I sleep longer?)) Oryen smield and shook his head. *You are hungry and I tend to feed you, if I am allowed afterwards you may sleep, but now you must get up,* he said and gently turned her over onto her belly. Tohanath snorted softly but eventually rose and obediently followed after her Mine.

Niradene had slept rather soudly but as soon as she heard the call she was up with a ywan being a light sleeper that she was she was used to getting up. She was confused for only a moment as she remembered what happened. (wake up dear heart) Cameith opened her eyes **Mine i am hungry** (i thought you'd be let's go). Niradene got up and so did Cameith as the pair made there way to the feeding area, Niradene could feel Cameith's hunger but Cameith didn't rush ahead just matched her pace staying close to Hers.

Sherly though had finally gotten to sleep it seemed like before she heard **Wake up mine wake up i am hungry and there is much more we need to explore** Sherly opened her eyes slowly grumbling Reedith was up gazing at her waiting "I'm up i'm up Reedith." she said to her ble as she got out of bed **this way mine that is were we shall find the food and maybe something to explore** Reedith said leading the way as sherly followed.

J'dan and C'lin were already up way before Annalyra came. J'dan was use to early hours and C'lin was too excited about the new things to sleep much. Although their dragonets had been asleep until then.

K'ryn had still been asleep when Annalyra had come. He hadn't been able to fall asleep after the Hatching despite his exhaustion. He had dreamt most of the night.
Optith woke and nudged his rider's shoulder. }:I am very hungry,:{ the little bronze said. }:Would you be so kind as to feed me?:{

Rayra had already been awake before she heard Annalyra's call, but her little green had not. She sat on her cot, having already gotten dressed for the day and even made her bed as was habit. Klah lay beside her, his old head on her lap as he enjoyed her gentle scratching behind his ears while she watched her dragonet with love. She had finally done it. At the calling and the sound of the bell, Dawnuth was startled from her sleep and woke with a loud warble. {{Mine! Mine! What is that?!}} she called, all atangle of legs and wings and tail as she tried to get up quickly. "Shh, shh, shh, Dawnuth. It's okay. I'm here. Shh," Rayra said soothingly, leaving her cot to touch the murky colored hide to comfort her and to settle her. After a few moments, Dawnuth settled and huddled close to Rayra, shaking. {{What is that?}} she asked a bit more calmly. "That's a bell, love. It won't hurt you, I promise." After a few minutes, the pair were finally heading outside to
meet with the WeyrlingMaster, Dawnuth not qiute hungry yet since she was still fearful.

M'kan was enjoying a peaceful dream when the call woke him. He went to sit up, but found that he couldn't and looked at the weight of more than just a blanket on him. Staring back at him was a pair of softly whirling eyes. {{I'm hungry, Mine. What's that noise? Where's it coming from? Mine, get up please. I'm hungry.}} Visageth started rather calmly as he lay stretched longways atop his Own, baby blue wings stretched across the cot to keep him balanced. M'kan sighed with a grin. "Good morning, Visageth. That noise is somethin' called a bell. People use it for lots of things. And it's coming from wherever the WeyrlingMaster is. Now get up so I can and we'll get ya' fed," the teen answered, his blue soon complying with another round of questions about numerous other things.
--*--
Jonnth woke with a hiss as His woke quickly, too, knife coming into view. Yes, K'sid still hadn't settled down completely and anything that startled him usually got threatened but rarely attacked. {{Make it stop, Mine!}} his dark blue grumbled, getting up and weaseling his way as close to the former Raider as he could. K'sid relaxed and put his knife away, hands going to the soft hide next to him and he softened. His dragon...{{I' m hungry. I wanna eat.}} Jonnth grumbled suddenly and K'sid smiled and thought hard about the little blue, having found out that Jonnth could hear his thoughts if he studied the dragonet while he thought of things. [[Lemme up and we'll go eat.]] he promised and the dragonet soon complied.

Tia'ar hadn't slept the greatest. Mihelith had been up quite often that night, or more so the early morning on. His belly hurt and was making funny sounds. Tia'ar had spent numerous times explaining that it was hunger that his big brown was feeling because it was the usual grumbling sound of hunger that kept waking the two of them. It seemed he had just gotten back to sleep again when the bell that sounded through the barracks woke the both of them once more. With a groan, the tall teen got up from where he'd been sitting against his brown and helped the little one up. "Now we can settle your belly, Mihelith. C'mon," he said sleepily. Mihelith stumbled to his feet, looking just as tired as His was and together the pair, made their way out to wherever it was food would be for the poor brown.
--*--
Irohidth was the one to wake G'tee before Annalyra's call. {{Mine, wake up!}} he demanded. {{Something growls at me!}} G'tee was up at that comment, wondering what could possibly have gotten into the barracks. "What's growlin'?" he asked aloud. {{It's under me.}} the dark brown replied grumpily, looking downward. G'tee looked in confusion, then he heard the distinctive growling sound of a hungry stomach, his own joining in. Irohidth stiffened and hissed. {{There it is again!}} G'tee burst out laughing a moment, then settled as he got up to go to his brown. "That's called a hungry stomach and I don't know where we have to go to fix that until we ask Annalyra. Not much longer after that, Annalyra's call echoed and G'tee grinned at Irohidth. "Let's go eat!" he said.
--*--
Zyurth was already up when Annalyra's call came. His nose had been buried inside K'lar's saddlebags, nosing about at the shinies, ingnoring the fact that he was hungry. The shinies were more interesting. When Annalyra called, he abruptly pulled his head from one of the pouches, a shiny dangling around his muzzle. {{MINE!!}} he shouted in alarm, a muffled bugle coming from him since his muzzle was kept shut by the shiny. K'lar woke with a start from the bell's sound, Annalyra's call, and his dragon's shout. What was wrong? Looking about quickly, he found the reason and couldn't help a smile as he scrambled out of his blankets. "Easy, Zyurth. Hold still and I'll get it off," he said calmly, having dealt with scared runners before. Dragons were kind of the same, right? {{It won't let go!}} the little bronze said in panic as His touched him and moved his hands up to his head. "Relax. It's okay." Once the bronze had stilled, staring at the shiny around his
nose, K'lar carefully slid the necklace off, then smiled as it looked like it hadn't done any harm to the young dragonet. After Zyurth settled down, he told His he was hungry and K'lar led him outside at the WeyrlingMaster' s beckon.

Starkith had already gotten His up and was begging to be fed and bathed and oiled, but L'ney, uncertain as to what all to do and where to go, talked him into waiting until someone else woke up. It was quiet until Annalyra's call and after that, they were one of the first few outside, Starkith ready to eat and already checking out the ladies of his clutch.
--*--
T'raren was already up and gazing at the dragonet next to him. Finally. It had really happened. A dragonet had chosen him. And not just any sort either. A bronze like he had always wanted. Just when he'd been about to give up, he Stood one more time and Eteinth was there. The big bronze gleamed even in the dim light of morning and he slept until Annalyra's call when he slowly woke. After saying his good morning to His, he mentioned his sudden hunger and the pair were soon off to gather with the rest of their class.

Lulith grumbled awake at the wake up call. {{Go away!}} she demanded, wanting to sleep longer and that she attempted as she buried her head beneath a foreleg to attempt to block out the sounds. Gunteera woke at the call and got up quickly, knowing from past chatters with her father and other riders on what the day after the Hatching held. She looked at her dragonet and smiled at the gold's obvious attempt to hide. "C'mon, Lulith, it's time to get up and go eat." {{Gunteera-Mine, I wanna sleep more.}} she grumbled back. With a sigh, Gunteera got up and stepped over to her shimmery gold and shook her gently. "C'mon. Get up. You can sleep more after you've eaten and gotten a bath and oiled. I promise." {{Oh, all right,}} Lulith replied, moving to get up. She couldn't ignore Hers' shaking and definitely couldn't argue about food since she had determined she was hungry.
weyrlings
Keistra came to stand at Annalyra's side. "Sorry I'm late. Payath got
stuck in the mud."
Payath snorted and joined Precisith in gaurding the meat. **I did not
get stuck, the mud was trying to eat me.**
Keistra rolled her eyes and smiled as the weyrlings began to stir. "Come
on everyone, I know it's early but you really do need to get up."
S'et woke to the insistant nudging from the blue at his side. "Okay I'm
awake Realerth. Stop it already."
The blue snorted. **I will not stop Mine. That infernal noise is
troubling me and I require sustanance. Wake up and feed me!**
That got the weyrling to his feet and into some pants and a tunic before
following his fellows to feed Realerth.
Marna too got a rude awakening when she opened her eyes to find Walweth
jumping up and down on her cot excitedly.
**Minemine! Wakeup,wakeup. YourWalwethishungy! **
Marna sighed. "Slow it down Walweth, I don't understand you."
The blue tried again. "Sorry Mine.
I...said...wake. ..up....I' m....hungry. **
Marna sat up and quickly got dressed. "Alright, love, lets feed you
then."

Annalyra noted her Assistant's arrival and smiled, not too concerned by the lateness, since the Weyrlings were slowly emerging from their wallows and heading her way. "That's okay," she said in answer then called again to the youngsters, "Everyone meet just outside the barracks, then we'll get your darlings fed and happy!"
Precisith regarded the other green's arrival, seeing the mud on her that proved her tale true and crooned softly. {{The little ones will be quite hungry.}} she said, looking at the carcasses nearby, then the buckets of meat.
Annalyra
Once all the Weyrlings had gathered just outside, Annalyra smiled, seeing the sleepiness of some and the obvious hunger of most of the dragonets. "Alright everyone, we're going to head over to Precisith and Payath where your dragonets' breakfast is waiting. I cut you all just a bit of slack today by providing some pre-cut meat to get you started. After your dragonets finish what's in their buckets, you will have to cut up meat yourself to finish feeding your lifemates. Any questions before we go?" she explained, then looked at each of the young riders to see if any questions were needed answered.
Annalyra
Kiyoni and Laliy looked at each other. Little Shiver sat sleepily on Laliy's shoulder. Neither were really looking forward to cutting up meat.
}:I'm hungry,:{ Hebertinth said, butting Laliy's knees.
**Soon, love.**
Elliwodth yawned a little. }:Will I get messy?:{
Kiyoni smiled. **Not if you're careful, darling.**
J'dan and K'ryn smiled. They were both used to cutting up meat. Both had flits already and J'dan had helped the hunting party when he had been a Trader. Claudith and Optith sat quietly beside their Chosen, waiting to be fed.
Seerowth snorted softly and looked around at all the others. C'lin's hand shot up. "How much do they usually eat?" he asked cursiously.

{{I'm hungry, Gunteera-Mine. I need fed. Now.}} Lulith demanded of Hers as she stood next to her, staring at that person talking to them. "In a minute, Lulith. Let her finish talking before we go eat," Gunteera replied quietly, so as not to draw too much attention to herself while she argued with her gold, Hope sleepily watching the shiny dragon from her shoulder.
--*
Eteinth stood quietly, waiting to answer the rumble in his belly while His stood next to him, his two blues on either shoulder, both hungry. T'raren wasn't concerned with cutting up his dragonet's meat. After all, he had two firelizards already.
--*
{{Mine do I look okay?}} Starkith asked His before turning his attention to a nearby green, {{My, aren't you lovely today.}} His mind was hardly on his hungry stomach at the moment now that he saw the others of his clutch. L'ney smiled at his bronze's question before hearing him flirt with a lady dragon. Rolling his eyes, he thought, [[Ya' look fine.]] before directing all of his attention to Annalyra again, Sky sleepily perched on his shoulder.
--*
Zyurth watched and listened closely, his attention only on Annalyra long enough to know what she spoke of, then his attention drifted to everyone and thing around him, studying each pair closely briefly as he looked. K'lar stood beside his bronze, a hand resting on the brown dusted hide while he listened to their instructions. Cutting meat shouldn't be too hard.
--*
G'tee stood quietly and listened while Irohidth stood as close to him as possible, eyeing anyone that neared too closely in warning. Mischief watched the dark brown from the safety of his Pet's shoulder. The two really hadn't quite compromised just yet that they could be nice to each other as well as share G'tee.
--*
Mihelith listened patiently, not in much of a hurry to displease anyone while His also listened quietly and patiently, though Tia'ar's eyes were drifting about the others, looking for poses to sketch later if he could remember.
--*
Jonnth stood quietly, eyeing the closest of his siblings in warning. His mind wasn't on Annalyra. She wasn't important. He needn't listen to her. Only His he would listen to. K'sid stood quietly, a hand on the nearly black hide of his lifemate as if to keep him in check, silently watching and listening to the WeyrlingMaster speak, River perched prettily on his shoulder, watching that thing that claimed her Pet too.
--*
Visageth wouldn't quiet for the life of him, his attention on that Weyrling's hairstyle or why that green firelizard was that color and that green was another or even about the clothing of the others, anywhere from shoes to tops to jewelry, occasionaly his attention being diverted to his stomach when it made another funny sound. M'kan tried to quietly answer each question simply and in short so as not to trigger any more questions and also to attempt to keep his attention on the WeyrlingMaster.
--*
Dawnuth stood timidly, crowding her lifemate for comfort and just to touch her. She didn't ever want to leave Hers. Ever. Rayra stood with her arm comfortingly over her green's back while she listened to their instructions. She had a challenge in Dawnuth, but she was certain that she could get through it just fine.

Weyrlings
Reedith was intently listening with rapt attention abosrbing all the information he ignored his clutchmates not because he wasn't friendly it was just he wanted to make sure he didn't miss anything. Once she was done he looked around observing sherlty smiled at the others in there class.

Niradene and Cameith stood quietly Cameith really close by Hers trying to hide herself from being noticed but it didn't work as he bronze brother Starkith talked to her **Er thanks** she said quietly Niradene rumbed her green in reassurance as Cameith wanted to stay with hers yet wanted to talk to others

In answer to C'lin's question, Annalyra smiled. "It all depends on your dragon's size. Right now, our smallest green will eat possibly a bit more than a bucket full of meat or close to a quarter of a carcass. Our biggest," she paused briefly to glance over the bronzes and the gold, determining the gold to be the biggest, then continued again, "gold will probably eat two bucketfuls which is somewhere close to a third of a carcass."
After seeing that there seemed to be no other questions, the WeyrlingMaster directed the twenty hungry dragonets toward the two waiting greens and instructed each Weyrling to take a bucket and to proceed in feeding their lifemates under Keistra and her's supervision that they weren't eating too quickly.
Once the buckets seemed to have been finished, she directed them to the carcasses where she demonstrated how they were to cut up the meat and in what sizes the chunks should be in order for them to feed their dragonets the rest of their needed food.
Annalyra
C'lin's eyes widened. He hadn't realized they ate so much even when they were little. He was glad that they started to hunt for themselves as they got bigger.
Once their buckets were empty everyone followed Annalyra over to the carcasses.
"No worse then hunting," J'dan commented.
Laliy and Kiyoni made faces, but didn't comment. Shiver watched the meat in front of him, managing to get a small bite every once in a while. C'lin and K'ryn seemed to be doing okay with their meat.

When it came time for the carcasses, Lulith looked at them with disgust. {{You have to do THAT, Mine?}} she inquired rather annoyed. After Gunteera explained that it was the only way her gold would satisfy her hunger, Lulith quieted and awaited her bites of meat.
--*
Eteinth finished off his bucket quite quickly, having been one of the larger dragonets and on to the carcasses His and he went with those two little blues in tow. There, the young bronze waited with surprising patience for the rest of his food.
--*
Zyurth had little patience for the bucket of food, but once that had been finished and he had determined that there was nothing left in it, he followed His on to the carcasses, asking for more to fill his hunger.
--*
Starkith crooned at Cameith, then followed His toward his breakfast. {{Come on, sister! Let's eat!}} he told the shy green cheerily. Once he'd finished his bucket, he looked up at his in question. {{Mine? Where's more?}} he asked. L'ney chuckled and guided his dragonet to the carcasses that needed cut up, Sky flitting along behind them.
--*
Mihelith took his time eating his bucket of meat, getting over to the carcasses among the last of the dragonets to do so. He had no need or reason to rush that much.
--*
Irohidth chose a bucket toward the end of the line so as to keep His away from any harm that was to come easier. And he grew even more irritable once they HAD to go over to carcasses for His to cut up meat for him, that annoying brown thing following them.
--*
Visageth kept asking why the bucket wasn't very full, the answer to which M'kan couldn't come up with until Annalyra showed them how to cut up the meat for their dragonets, then it was questions about the shiny thing and what His was doing with it making that dead beast bleed, all the while M'kan smiling along and attempting to answer things....
--*
Jonnth purposely took his bucket and His away from the others in order to eat in peace, then he wanted to drag the dead herdbeast away from the others, too, in order to have peace while His cut it up for him, although he just couldn't escape the little green that followed His around EVERYWHERE.
--*
Dawnuth timidly followed Hers, eating slowly and daintily when given the meat. She stayed as close to Hers as possible without bumping Hers too hard. That thing looked sharp and it frightened her.

Cameith followed starkith to her own bucket {{Alright}} she said she ate silently near Hers she finished it in due time then watched hers cut up the meat. Niradene had done this before as a beastcrafter though it was one of those things she didn't like doing it was sometimes something she had to do even with her specialty being runners. {{that's enough for me mine}} she said quietly.

Sherly was herself berated with questions from Reedith he was brilliant yes she had found that out quite well and he loved figuring it all out. As reedith at his food he explored the bucket with interest noting how it held the meat askign things here and there as he studied the object. then when it came to the cutting of the meat. he watched his and others cut there meat noting the different techniques askign all sorts of questions as Sherly cut his meat.

Elliwodth yawned a little. }:Will I get messy?:{

====

--**--
Sherly was herself berated with questions from Reedith he was brilliant yes she had found that out quite well and he loved figuring it all out. As reedith at his food he explored the bucket with interest noting how it held the meat askign things here and there as he studied the object. then when it came to the cutting of the meat. he watched his and others cut there meat noting the different techniques askign all sorts of questions as Sherly cut his meat.
